Cesar C. Cordoba is a multidisciplinary Artist fusing a variety of techniques to create art that blends fantasy with reality. As a Mexican artist, currently based in Canada, he incorporates his traditional land art techniques into art that encourages viewers to examine the tangible relationship between human nature and their surrounding environments.
From sculptural art, to mechanical puppetry, paintings and lino cuts, Cesar’s work blends a variety of findings including wood, metal, paper, textiles and recycled materials. As an organic sculptor, he incorporates plants, fruits, seeds and dry organic materials to create the fine details of his surreal animal sculptures. With a body of work over 20 years, he has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions, nationally and internationally. Cesar has been awarded with Hamilton Arts Council Artist in Residence 2022, Supercrawl 2024.
His diverse training in formal and informal techniques, has developed his career beyond a craft artist, into varying areas of fine art, creative design and stop motion animation. As a musician, Cesar’s connection with his natural environment is an overarching theme using music to speak of culture, journey and adaptability. He plays the keyboard, accordion and synthetic synthesizer’s to create unique soundscapes and musical compositions. Cesar currently resides in Hamilton Ontario and has a studio at The Cotton Factory.
